In Spyro™ Reignited Trilogy, gliding to new heights, unleashing fire-breathing attacks, and exploring lush environments is more fun in HD graphical glory. Spyro has been unleashed! He’s all scaled up and ready to flare up some bad guys in Spyro™ Reignited Trilogy, a dynamic gaming collection that’s going to have fans “Spyro-ing” out of control. Hopefully, Spyro has left enough of an impact on Spencer to trigger the development of more Spyro games. The Iconic Purple Dragon is Fully Remastered, All Scaled Up and Just in Time to Celebrate His 20th Anniversary! Gamers would not lose anything being optimistic, however, as Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has stated that he would love to see games from his childhood, such as Guitar Hero, make a reappearance. Spyro was once a PlayStation exclusive and now the series could find itself as an Xbox exclusive. If Microsoft does decide that Spyro should return, there is also the issue of exclusivity to consider.

Beside blockbuster titles like Call of Duty, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft, Microsoft might decide that Spyro simply is not worth the effort when other IPs promise greater profits. After a string of acquisitions, Microsoft now has a very impressive lineup of IPs under its umbrella. There are some potential negatives that are also worth considering. Gamers could even see a new AAA Spyro game that takes the classic platforming fun of the series and adapts it for modern gamers. This could be a blessing in disguise for Spyro, as Microsoft's deep pockets could mean the series will receive the love and attention it deserves. With the recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Spyro's IP now lies in the hands of Microsoft.
